Why
have I been referred?
You may have been referred
to our office for one of many reasons related to your oral health. Based
on our diagnosis, in consultation with your general dentist, we will develop
a treatment plan specifically for you.
What
types of treatment are available?
At our office we
treat periodontal disease, improve your smile, and present implants
as an alternative for replacing one or more missing teeth.
If periodontal disease
is in its advanced stages you may require advanced
treatment, and in some cases including special procedures
which help to replace bone lost to disease.
If one or more of your
teeth are too long, exposing an unattractive tooth
root, there are special periodontal procedures that can cover the roots
and give you a prettier smile.
If one or more of your
teeth are missing, causing unappealing gaps in your smile, dental
implants might be the answer for yon. Dental implants are replaced teeth
that feel and look just like your own. An artificial tooth root is placed
in your jaw, and after a healing period, an artificial tooth is attached
to the root.
How
do I protect my oral health?
Once you've been treated
for periodontal disease, periodontal disease maintenance procedures (PMP)
enable you to maintain control of the disease and increase your chances
of keeping your teeth. Periodontal disease is similar to other chronic diseases,
such as diabetes. The key to control is early diagnosis and prompt and ongoing
treatment.
Regular "cleanings"
with your dentist and ongoing PMP treatments with this office will ensure
optimum oral health and the highest quality care possible for you and your
mouth.
